The original menorah, a candelabrum with seven candles, was used in the tabernacle and later the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. This ketubah uses this historical symbol of Judaism in a modern and lively way. The repeated motif adds charm and whimsy to the composition. The verse, "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine," in both Hebrew and English is incorporated subtly into the design.
