On Sukkot (otherwise known as the Feast of Tabernacles), we sing, dance and eat festive meals in our sukkahs. A famous Jewish rabbi, the Vilna Gaon, said entering the sukkah is one of only two opportunities we have to “enter a mitzvah”. In other words, anything we do in our sukkah is holy! Whether shaking the lulav and etrog, drinking wine or welcoming guests into our sukkah to eat, the Sukkot holiday is a perfect time reflect on and enjoy the blessings of the New Year...and prepare for Simchat Torah, the celebration of the Torah.
