Dancing Lesson

In this limited edition serigraph, Hedva Firenci depicts a ballet lesson. The impressionistic style and balletic theme is vaguely reminiscent of notable French artist Edgar Degas. The lack of facial detailing, as well as the use of perspective puts the focus on the dancers' movements. Each dancer is positioned in a different way, which is highlighted by the use of shading. The different, vivid colours create a sharp contrast, alluding the central tenant of ballet, muscular opposition. The serigraph is printed on paper and signed by the artist in the bottom right corner.
