In this limited edition serigraph Alexander Klevan depicts the musical tradition of Klezmer. The tradition was practiced primarily by the Ashkenazi Jews of Eastern Europe in the early 1900s at celebratory events. The serigraph depicts three musicians with their instruments. Klevan uses melancholy colours to honour the difficulties the Jewish people faced throughout the 20th century. The few strokes of bright colour serve to add an optimistic touch. There is the underlying reminder of both the power of music and art in general. The serigraph is printed on paper and signed by the artist in the bottom right corner.
